Blogging reaches the present day

I have finally been able to complete filling the archives with posts from my livejournal that I felt were relevant to the vision of this blog. I had to pass up a few really good posts, as I hope to be more focused with this blog than the rants and frustrations I let out on my livejournal.

Lately, I've been reading Baron Friedrich von Hügel because of Elizabeth's O'Connor's constant mention of him. He was an inspiring spiritual/pastoral guide from the late 1800's, early 1900's. His thoughts on the uniqueness and variety of souls, as well as being a spiritual director and resource to those around you, are incredible. I hope to expound on this soon.

Sunday nights are our classes on enaging self, God, and others, aptly named Journey Inward, Journey Outward after O'Connor's book which laid the foundation of our first 12 week course. We're currently going through Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in light of the first course, to further our journey. I hope to be expounding on this in the near future as well.

In our recent Thursday night biblical studies we have been listening to and discussing N.T. Wright's four lectures on Jesus, which can be found now in mp3 format, here. The audio lectures are the orginal form of his book, The Challenge of Jesus. For those of you who do not know his work, I recommend checking out his website on my sidebar. These are things I hope to soon discuss here also.

In the mean time, I invite you to read through the 20 or so posts in my archives. And thanks for your time!
