They just don't get it

I recently found an article that summed up many of my feelings. It is quite light hearted, simple, and short, which helps in reading it, and addresses the delimna of a Jewish follower of Y'shua amidst "Gentile" Christians, like the title of my blog.

Three Things "Gentile" Christians May "Never" Understand

As I've stressed before, having a cultural understanding of scripture is highly important. We worship a Jewish God, with a Jewish Messiah, and learn through a Jewish bible, written by Jews, mostly to Jews and Jewish God-fearers, and about Jews, yet many still often attempt to understand God and scripture through their own, often linear, western, and helenistic, paradigm. This raises questions that the Jewish mind never had. Such as how Law and Grace work together, legalism vs. obedience out of relationship and love, and a habitual or ceremonial lifestyle that brings about "habits of holiness" as well as a constant placement and reminder of God in one's life.

Read the article above. I think you'll find it enjoyable and a bit enlightening.
