Fundraising for the 21st century?

Part of the way we fund our ministry is through businesses that we have built up around us that give into the ministry. Most of these are personal businesses that have been in the planning or experimental stages for some time. On the greater scale, these include our long term projects, such as our Center for Expressive Arts. One the smaller scale, we hope to open elements of that Center in the short term, and build up to the whole. This would include a Cafe', used book store, production company, an art gallery, art auctions, and others as we help those within our group to discover their passion, vision, and natural giftings. Much of what we do has been built from the inspirational model of Church of the Savior in Washington D.C., which Elizabeth O'Connor writes about in her book Journey Inward, Journey Outward (on my side bar), and Theoblogical writes about in the "Church of the Savior" and "Sojourners" sections of his blog.

This month will mark the launch of several businesses for us, after a long period of planning. This week, our recording studio is officially launched after four years of experimenting and planning! This includes, rather unsuspectingly for us, the production company side of the studio as well. We're signing our first band! It's very exciting, and we look forward to learning from the friends we have that have been making a successful living in production work for many years.

The recording studio is my own business, which helps support Nadine and I personally. The production work is a combination of my vision and that of our current concert promoter, MarsHall. This fits perfectly with our vision for living our passion, as well as calling forth the depths of others. Also, the equipment is rented from the Church at a set rate, which serves as an excellent fundraiser for the ministry as well. I will save you all the details for now though. The inspiration for this post is really what I wanted to share...

Thanks to the over abundance of help from my extremely talented wife, inner sanctum studios' website is now online! I wanted to share the excitement, since it marks our official business launch. Not to mention that I really like to show off Nadine's work. I think she's an incredible graphic designer.
