More on the rabbit hole post...

I was replying to Stephen about my resource list a couple of posts back, and it seemed to lean towards being a post all its own. So, if I may clarify a bit about the resource list.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of the books and opinions I've read. I formed this list of the books that are different from the "norm" when it comes to Christian studies. Having been to bible college, and studying for my Christian ordination, as well as during my pastorate, I'm no stranger to the plethora of ideas that are out there in the Christian scholar world.

My journey was taken after given a taste of historical context and social world of the NT (i.e. Eidersheim). Since college, my journey has been driven mostly by an effort to look past nearly 2000 years of Church and Christian tradition, and work from there. There is a surprising amount of information available on the subject nowadays. My love of learning philosophical origins kept me moving down the road.

I went through postmodernism, the emerging church, something "other-than", and a library of books coming from many angles, and somehow found myself in a very Hebraic mindset, with a very Jewish understanding of God and the world around me.

I don't seek to convert anyone, except perhaps to thinking outside the box. I merely seek to share my journey, my thoughts, and perhaps some of the resources that got me to think differently than I once did.

In the near future, I hope to share my thoughts that have shaped from a totally different genre of books. I never thought much of writing about those things here, since my blog was originally set up to talk about my faith journey. I'm working to set up a renewed blog in which I tap into what I've learned on leadership, entrepenuership, the music business, investments, nonviolent communication, relationship counseling, and personal growth in general.

I look forward to having much more to write about. Perhaps this will help me writ more often.
